American Viking Patches

Community Member

The All Member Patch - Our community allows all United States Loyalists who are Christian to be members. The members are Longships owners or are Rune-Carvers or are Skalds that bring uniqueness to our community. They serve and are loyal to the United States of America.

The V-Twin Engine (Central Focus): This represents the "Heart of the Machine." It is the modern-day powerhouse, synonymous with motorcycles and cars. The blue glowing runes on the cylinder heads signify that our ancestors' spirit fuels our modern technology.
The Viking Longship: The engine sits directly inside the hull of a Norse ship, symbolizing that our vehicles are our vessels. Whether on the water then or the asphalt now, the mission remains the same: exploration and courage.
The American Flag Sail: The flag isn't just a backdrop; it is the power that moves the ship. It represents our primary loyalty to the United States and the freedom that allows us to live our lifestyle.
The Bald Eagle & The Raven: The eagle at the top represents American sovereignty and strength, while the darker, feathered wings and the overall aesthetic nod to Odin’s ravens, Huginn and Muninn (Thought and Memory), reminding us to remember our roots while we soar.
The Guitar Headstock (Bottom Center): Emerging from the flames, this represents the "Skaldic" tradition—our music, our stories, and the rhythm of the road that keeps the community alive.
The Battle Axes: Crossed behind the sail, they represent the "Shield-Wall" - a commitment to protect our community, our country, and our brothers/sisters.

Heritage Member Designs

Each patch below serves as the bloodline heritage of the member. These designs symbolize the bridge between American culture and Nordic roots. Regardless of the specific Nordic flag, every heritage member patch carries these core symbols.

American Flag: We are all Christians and Loyal to the United States of America. The United States Flag is on the right side that presents the power and loyalty to the Constitution of the United States.
The Skull: Represents a commitment to the American Viking community; to follow the rules and to be a loyal servant to the members of the community. Help others, Represents the Community with Honor and Respect.
The Braided Beard & Helm: A nod to the warrior class; it signifies maturity, wisdom and readiness for a challenge.
The "American Viking" Header: This is the unifying title, showing that while their heritage are across the Atlantic, their home and loyalty are here in the United States of America.

Norwegian Heritage Member

Symbolism: This design represents members with a lineage tied to the fjords and mountains of Norway.

Community Meaning: It highlights the "Explorer" spirit. This represents the foundational members who value the deep history of seafaring and the traditional ruggedness of the Norwegian Viking.

Visual Key: The "Dannebrog" style cross with the blue inner stripe on a red field identifies this member’s specific ancestral bond.

Swedish Heritage Member

Symbolism: This design represents members with heritage from the "Heart of Scandinavia," Sweden.

Community Meaning: It symbolizes "Strength and Prosperity." Worn by members who focus on the craftsmanship and tactical organization associated with Swedish history.

Visual Key: The vibrant Blue and Gold flag is a striking contrast against the dark background, making it easily recognizable as the Swedish contingent of the community.

Danish Heritage Member

Symbolism: This design represents members connected to Denmark, the oldest kingdom in Europe.

Community Meaning: It represents "The Shield." Historically, Danish Vikings were known for their sophisticated trade networks and fortresses. This patch identifies members who prioritize community, brotherhood/sisterhood, and the defense of the group's values.

Visual Key: The simple, bold Red and White cross (the Dannebrog) creates a classic, high-visibility look that pairs perfectly with the American stars and stripes.

Finnish Heritage Member

Symbolism: This design represents members with roots in Finland, the land of a thousand lakes and "Sisu."

Community Meaning: It symbolizes Resilience and Grit. This represents the "enforcers" or the most stoic members - those who remain calm and determined in the face of extreme adversity, embodying the Finnish spirit of perseverance.

Visual Key: The Blue Cross on a White Field (the Siniristilippu). The white represents the snow of Finland, and the blue represents its many lakes, creating a clean, high-contrast look next to the American flag.

Icelandic Heritage Member

Symbolism: This design represents members connected to Iceland, the land of fire and ice, and the home of the Sagas.

Community Meaning: It represents Heritage and Tradition. Because Icelanders have preserved the Old Norse language and culture most closely, this chapter often serves as the "keepers of the law" or historians within the community, honoring the ancient ways.

Visual Key: The Red Cross with a White Border on a Blue Field. This flag is visually distinct due to its triple-color layering, symbolizing the volcanic fire (red), the glaciers (white), and the Atlantic Ocean (blue).

Patch Placement

Here is an example of the patch placement. The example is if the member would like both patches (Community and Heritage) on their vest, jacket, shirt, etc.. We only require that you wear your patches on a piece of clothing during our events. Vest and Jackets are what most members wear.

We also have member purchase shirts, hats, stickers and they even wrap their Longships with our designs. It is encourage to show these designs within our Longships, Rune-Carvers Art and Skalds performances.
